A short listing of places I like around the internet

News and sportPosted by Andrew

BBC gives the best news and general sport on the internet. Added to that their iPlayer to catch up on missed programs makes the site one of the best

Cricinfo. Lots of news and information on cricket, covers every professional game in the world, many of them ball-by-ball, and gives lots of interesting analysis.

Blogs and opinionPosted by Andrew

Bad Science by Ben Goldacre. A nice blog that explains why the news reported is almost always incorrect. Should be complusary reading. Isn't updated as regularly as it used to be

Pharyngula by PZ Myers. An interesting blog that covers a wide range of topics, but is most interesting when he blogs on developmental biology.

Good Math, Bad Math by MarkCC. A blog on maths and computing, lots of good stuff for the technically minded.

EntertainmentPosted by Andrew

Kongregate, an excellent site full of flash games, for those spare 5 minutes when you want to kill stuff.

Civfanatics, my favourite fan site for my favourite computer game. I have been a fan of Civilization from when the original was published all those years ago.

Diablo fan site. All the news, all the ways to kill demons quicker. What more do you need?

Web comicsPosted by Andrew

Girl Genius, a story about a girl, her cat and lots of mad science.

Gunnerkrigg Court. A story about a girl in a bording school, I think. The story that we have been told so far seem to be only the surface story, I still have no idea where we are going.

XKCD. A "Webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language".
